ØIS now fully IB-certified

It is one of only two fully IB-certified schools in Denmark

Østerbro International School (OIS) has been authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) to children in its primary years program (ages 3-12), thus making it only the second school in Denmark to be fully IB-certified. The other is the Copenhagen International School.

In Denmark, some 16 schools are on the IB World School list but most of them offer this education only to students in the middle years programme (aged 11-16). OIS received IB accreditation for the middle years and diploma programs last May.

AAGE soon to follow
Recently, the Aarhus Academy (AAGE) announced it has been authorised for the middle years IB program and is awaiting accreditation for the primary years program this spring.

Since the foundation of the IB program in 1968 in Switzerland – to provide an international education that develops children’s intellectual, emotional and social skills – over 4,000 schools have adopted them, teaching more than 1 million students worldwide.
