Mid-March Art: All eyes on Charlottenborg

This annual Charlottenborg event is one of the most important open submission exhibitions in Europe.

Originally launched in 1857 as an exhibition for showing off new works by Danish artists, it now features many overseas artists. Over the years it has included fledgling works by such renowned international figures as Alvar Aalto, Per Kirkeby, Olafur Eliasson and Superflex.

Submitted artworks fall into a wide range of genres within art, architecture and design – including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, video, film, performance, design, craft, animation, sound and new media. (PS)
