The 38th edition of the Copenhagen Jazz Festival is offering ten days of enjoyable jazz fest at venues mostly located in Copenhagen and Frederiksberg.

With 120 venues and 1,300 concerts, the festival is one of Europe’s largest jazz events.

This year the organisers are encouraging the public to buy their tickets well in advance as tickets are selling pretty fast.

Among the big-name acts this year are Burt Bacharach, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Gregory Porter, Richard Bona, Pat Metheny and Charles Lloyd.

Summer Jazz

Summer Jazz is bringing a host of free concerts to Valby and Frederiksberg this July. This festival is growing every year and many believe it is on a par with its big brother, the Copenhagen Jazz Festival.

Some of the most recognisable names in Jazz are sure to feature as the festival seeks to create one of the most innovative and comprehensive musical experiences in Europe.

As well as the live music, there will be opportunities to watch live interviews and master classes with the acts. This is sure to be a treat for lovers of any kind of jazz, including classical, crossover and bebop. (AJ)

Rihanna

In case you are tired of sitting in your office to just work work work, it might be time to get up and sing along to your favorite Rihanna songs at Refshaleøen on July 7!

The Barbadian popstar will be heading to Copenhagen as part of her ANTI world tour to promote her latest album.

Rihanna released almost an album per year between 2005 and 2012, before taking a break.

But this year she has taken over the charts once more with her catchy, repetitive hit ‘Work’ and her latest single ‘Needed Me’.

This is Rihanna’s first time back in Denmark since her Roskilde Festival performance in 2013. (GD)

The 43-year-old producer of multiple hits for the likes of Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani and Kanye West hasn’t looked back since finding the limelight with songs such as ‘Happy’. No stranger to Denmark, he performed at last year’s Roskilde. (GD)
