Denmark‘s Pernille Blume, the reigning Olympic 50 metre freestyle champion, posted a 52.69 in the 100 metre champion at the 2017 Fina World Swimming Championships on Friday, shaving three tenths off of her own Danish record. She has the only two times under 53 in Danish history.

Blume’s time grabbed her the bronze medal. She finished only four-tenths behind Simone Manuel and just under four-tenths behind Sarah Sjöström.
