Mærsk has suspended its vessel traffic to the Israeli port of Haifa, citing security concerns linked to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.
The Danish shipping company says the move follows an internal assessment of current risk levels, particularly those associated with docking in Israeli ports.
“The safety and well-being of our staff at impacted sites remains our top priority,” Mærsk said in a written statement.
Haifa, the country’s largest container terminal, is an important hub for Israeli trade. The company did not specify how long the suspension would remain in place but noted that the situation is being monitored closely.
