Denmark is set for a week of changing autumn weather, with periods of rain, sunshine and mild temperatures, according to the Danish Meteorological Institute, DMI.
Monday began cool, particularly in central Jutland, where temperatures fell to between 6 and 8 degrees.
“The temperature is down to 6-8 degrees, so if you are going out cycling, you can clearly feel that autumn has arrived,” DMI duty meteorologist Jesper Eriksen told Ritzau.
The rest of Monday is expected to remain dry, with a mix of sunshine and clouds. Temperatures will reach between 15 and 18 degrees, with light to moderate winds from the west.
### Tuesday to be warmest day
Tuesday is expected to be the warmest day of the week.
Winds will turn to the south, bringing slightly warmer air over Denmark and pushing temperatures to between 17 and 21 degrees.
There will be periods of sunshine, although some rain is possible, particularly in Jutland.
More rain is expected to reach Jutland later Tuesday afternoon before moving east during the evening and overnight.
Wednesday will bring some sunshine but also showers.
Temperatures are expected to fall back to between 15 and 18 degrees, while winds will turn west again.
Thursday and Friday are expected to bring periods of rain and showers, with temperatures remaining between 15 and 18 degrees.
Winds from the west and southwest are also expected to strengthen gradually toward the end of the week.
Eriksen said the week would not be particularly cold despite the unsettled weather.
“In the week as a whole, you will not need the really warm clothes, but in periods you will need rainwear and rubber boots,” he said.
It remains unclear whether September will bring another spell of warmer weather later in the month.
“We will have to see what happens, whether the last spasms with some warmth arrive. It is not decided yet,” Eriksen said.
