According to Big 7 Travel, Copenhagen’s legendary gem Hotel d’Angleterre is among the best in the world for enjoying a winter escape.
Hotel d’Angleterre ranked 14th overall, with Big 7 lauding the Kongens Nytorv institution for its brilliant location and the lengths the hotel goes to spread its jule cheer.
“At Christmastime the whole square transforms into a winter wonderland, illuminated by twinkling lights and some of the world’s best Christmas decorations,” wrote Big 7 travel.
“Inside the Hotel d’Angleterre, it’s equally as festive, with Christmas trees, carols and their famous ‘gløgg’.”

Plaudits and pedigree
The ranking was based on a number of parameters, including properties with high reviews, unique ‘winter’ experiences, cosiness factor and luxury.
Hotel d’Angleterre has a lot of the above, as well as a storied history.
Founded way back in 1755 as one of the world’s first luxury hotels, the hotel has 30 rooms and 60 suits … and its very own Michelin-star restaurant, Marchal.
Indeed it’s long been a mecca for the rich and famous coming to Copenhagen.
