Gale-force winds could hit Denmark tomorrow

A low pressure system over the North Sea might – or might not – kick up a fuss

It may turn out to be particularly windy in parts of Denmark tomorrow night if a small low-pressure system known as ‘witch-box’ develops over the North Sea tomorrow afternoon.

If it forms, it will bring strong winds – possibly up to storm velocity – to the western coast of Jutland.

Hard to predict
It is hard to predict the strength, duration and scope of quickly developing low-pressure systems. Some models say it will peter out, while others predict it will create storm-like conditions.

The last storm of any magnitude to hit Denmark was Helga, which struck northern Jutland on December 4 last year.
