Jazz joy in july

Running since 1979, this ten-day festival of worship at the altar of jazz is now one of the world’s biggest jazz happenings.

Spread over 100 venues here, there and everywhere, the capital is transformed into the hippest of capital cities.

Some 1,200 concerts, many free, will send pleasurable tingles up the spines of the seasoned jazz aficionados.

The event pulls in the world’s biggest names and this year’s line-up – Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke, John Scofield, Gregory Porter and Tiniwaren – is no different.
