Copenhagen Netball Club finished an impressive second at their recent mini-tournament in Paris on April 16 – an all ladies affair this time without the men who are permitted in a mixed version of the sport.
In the end, they couldn’t match one of the Paris teams, the Falcons, who lifted the trophy, with the other home side, the Eagles, coming third, and Stockholm last (all pictured above).
Leading the charge was Audrey Højbjerg, a South African sharp-shooter (in full flight above) who was named MVP for the tournament. Backing her up, meanwhile, were no less than a quintet of Aussies (beat that, the oarsome foursome!).
Pictured above are (top row, left-right) are Helen Belshaw (Aus), Clara Jessop (Aus), Stephanie Patterson (Aus) and Højbjerg; and (bottom row, left-right) Liz Downey (UK) and Susie McKenzie (Aus). Not pictured are Heidi Gore (UK), Katrina Taylor (Aus) and Sara Tolstrup Husum, the sole Dane on the team.
Copenhagen Netball Club runs a regular mixed competition on Wednesday nights from 7.30pm at Bellahøjhallen. New players are welcome to turn up and experience the game three times for free.
