New figures released this week show that 2016 has been a distinctly sluggish year for DSB.
Only six out of 19 of its lines met punctuality standards in April – leaving on time at least 81.8 percent of the time. The others fell well short, with some leaving as scheduled less than 56.3 percent of the time, reports DR.
The figures
The only lines that met punctuality standards were Roskilde-Køge-Næstved (94.2 percent), Odense-Svendborg (88.9 percent), Fredericia-Struer (87.1), Aarhus-Aalborg (88.4 percent), Aalborg-Frederikshavn (93.9 percent) and Odder-Aarhus-Grenaa (93.6 percent).
Meanwhile, the worst offenders were Copenhagen-Roskilde (62.2 percent), Copenhagen-Odense (60.8 percent) and Kolding-Padborg/Sønderborg (56.3 percent)
Too little, too late
DSB chief executive Flemming Jensen calls the figures “unsatisfactory”.
“Punctuality – not only in April, but throughout 2016 – has remained at an unsatisfactory rate,” he said.
The bad performance have been blamed on a number of factors, including the border checks with Sweden, delayed track repairs on Funen and locomotives in need of servicing.
Commuters delayed by more than 30 minutes are entitled to compensation in the form of Basis Rejsetidserstatning – more details can be found on DSB’s website.
