Party hard: It’s graduation season in Denmark

What’s up with those huge trucks full of boozing students, pumping club music as they drive around the city? They’re celebrating the end of their three-year ‘Gymnasium’ education, when they can finally wear the special white cap ‘studenterhuen’. 

On this, the final weekend of June, young people are again be driving around town shouting and dancing. It may look like Danish youngsters drinking their brains out once again. But there’s a deeper sense to the madness, a professor explains
