Denmark most affordable country in the world to live healthily

Denmark is the most affordable country in the world to live healthily, according to a study by PureGym, the British fitness club chain.

It compared 75 countries, assessing both the cost of staying healthy and the national average salary.

For example, it took into account the cost of a monthly fitness club membership and a standard pair of Nike running shoes, along with basic items across five key food groups: fruit, veg, dairy, grains and protein.

The USA, Switzerland, Australia and Germany completed the top five, with the Netherlands, the UK, Canada, Ireland and Sweden making up the top ten.

Applause for Denmark
The survey applauded Denmark for the way it has “fast becoming a benchmark of how a bustling city can promote good health on every corner”.

“Pay a visit, and you’ll find that cycling for example, has been made to be much more accessible and attractive than other modes of transport in the city,” it continued.

“Alongside this, healthy eating options are more readily available than in other cities, and many educational institutions offer quit-smoking programs.”
