Copenhagen: Recycle! at the Danish Architecture Center

The construction industry is one of the biggest climate offenders on a global scale. We build, demolish, and discard as if resources leave no trace – and as if they’ll never run out. That’s why it makes a real difference when we recycle building materials and transform existing structures instead of tearing them down and building new ones. This is the focus of DAC’s new exhibition: Recycle!

The exhibition shows how building materials can be reused to create new architecture. And it presents ideas and solutions for reusing materials – instead of relying on the manufacture of new materials and letting valuable resources go to waste.

📅 Date: September 4, 2025
🕔 Time: 16.30 – 17.30
📍 Location: Danish Architecture Center (DAC), Bryghuspladsen 10, Copenhagen

Recycle! Everything we build with has value – even after it’s been used. By recycling building materials, we can cut consumption and reduce our impact on the climate. That’s the focus of the exhibition. On this tour, you’ll see:

  • A striking sculpture made from discarded office furniture, pipes, and cables
  • An installation about Copenhagen’s historic Børsen building, damaged by fire in 2024, and now being carefully restored using the original materials
  • Ambitious projects like Denmark’s tallest wooden high-rise—featuring windmill blades and mailboxes as façade elements
  • The Danish Architecture Centre is open until 9 pm that day, and you can stay and explore the exhibitions or go to the DAC Café afterwards.

🎤 The tour will be led by a DAC guide and conducted in English.

Admission is free, but registration is required – limited spots available.
