2015 marks the 100th year since Edvard Weies, one of Denmark’s great modernist painters, had his first solo exhibition.
This spring exhibition at GLS Strand showcases the intensely poetic nature of his work.
Over 70 selected pieces of work, mostly sourced from private possessions, can be seen, with a special focus on the more colourful works he created after 1920, culminating in his last big romantic composition, ‘Faun and Nymphe’, from the early 1940s.
