Wozniacki’s form continues with another big win

Caroline Wozniacki beat Agnieszka Radwanska 7-5, 6-3 today to all but seal a place in the semis of the WTA Finals.
However, Petra Kvitova’s demolition of Maria Sharapova – who Woz beat 7-6, 6-7, 6-2 earlier in the week – means the Dane could still lose out. Should Wozniacki lose to Kvitova and Radwanska beat Sharapova, all three players will have won two matches.


Goalie ices NHL record

Frederik Andersen not only recorded his first career NHL shutout when the Anaheim Ducks beat the St Louis Blues 3-0 on Sunday, but he also became just the second goalie in NHL history to win 25 of his first 30 matches. Ross Brooks was the first to do it – in 1974 for the Boston Bruins.


Olsen chides Eriksen

National football coach Morten Olsen has told Christian Eriksen he needs to make more of an impact for Denmark after the Tottenham star’s unconvincing performance in Denmark’s 0-1 loss to Portugal in their Euro 2016 qualifier.


New half marathon

Next September, Copenhagen is hosting its very first half marathon, according to the DAF. The elite event is expected to attract some of the top runners in the world.


Chinese clean sweep

Chinese badminton stars made a clean sweep at the Yonex Denmark Open in Odense,  winning all five titles. The Danish players mostly disappointed – only the third-ranked Mathias Boe and Carsten Mortensen in the men’s doubles reach a semi-final.
