The Danish logistics group DSV published its third quarter results on Wednesday, reporting a turnover of DKK 44b, which is DKK 8.5b more than the same period last year.
However, profits this quarter were roughly equal to the corresponding period last year at DKK 2.8m.
DSV is awaiting approval from competition authorities for its agreement to acquire German logistics company DB Schenker for over DKK 100b.
Schenker is one of the world’s leading transport and logistics providers with around 86,600 employees including temporary workers at more than 1,850 locations in over 70 countries.
The company operates land, air and ocean transportation services and offers comprehensive logistics and global supply chain management solutions.
“The combination with Schenker will create a world leading player in the industry with a combined 2023 revenue of approximately DKK 293 billion and a combined workforce of around 160,000 employees,” said DSV in its interim report.
If the merger is approved, DSV will become the largest logistics company in the world.
DSV is also the exclusive joint-venture partner for the futuristic desert city project NEOM, located in Saudi Arabia’s Tabuk Province.
DSV will provide transport and logistics services for NEOM, and states in the interim report that it has “obtained final regulatory approvals, and the incorporation process has begun”.
