678 new COVID-19 cases today – the fourth 500-plus tally in a row

Two deaths recorded and around 100 patients currently hospitalised

The second wave of the coronavirus is intensifying in Denmark.

Some 678 new cases of coronavirus have been registered in Denmark today, following on from 559 yesterday – the fourth successive day that over 500 have been registered.

Yesterday, 17 more people were admitted to hospital, taking the total number to 95, and they were joined by another 25 today, taking the total number to 120.

Two new deaths were recorded yesterday, taking the total number of deaths to 645 in Denmark.

The current rate of new cases is comparable with the figures in late May.
