Being a parent or carer isn’t always easy. Days seem to melt into one as you constantly look for ways to keep the kids amused without driving yourself insane. Luckily, sanity is on the horizon as Copenhagen has a ridiculous amount of venues that are perfect for adults seeking fellow adult company and children of all ages.
Ørstedsparken
Ørstedsparken has two public playgrounds including one that is staffed and suitable for children up to 16 years of age. Every Tuesday and Thursday, from 10am to 12pm, staff hold a rhythmic playgroup for children aged between seven months and two years. These playgroups give children a chance to dance, sing, play and meet new friends. These groups, as well as the park in general, are great for parents or carers looking to meet new people. Toys, an inside area and a changing room are available.

Adventskirken
Every Tuesday from 9.30am to 11.30am, parish assistant Charlotte Marie Rasmussen holds musical playgroups designed to encourage children to interact and learn. There are two groups: for under 12 months and over. There is plenty of space, a great playroom with lots of toys, and coffee and tea for adults. Highchairs are readily available and there are also tables where lunch (bring your own) can be consumed.

Blegdamsremisen
Blegdamsremisen is one of Copenhagen’s major children’s attractions. This free indoor playground has plenty of room for ball games and also has table tennis, a pirate ship, a cable car, nature workshops, and paper and painting workshops. There are Playstation machines, air hockey, billiards, a TV and a café with kitchen. Every Tuesday and Thursday, there is a playgroup from 8:30am to 12:15pm for children aged up to three years. Remember slippers as outdoor footwear are not permitted.
