As William Gladstone very rightly put it: “If you are cold, tea will warm you. If you are too heated, it will cool you. If you are depressed, it will cheer you. If you are excited, it will calm you.” So given the autumn weather and the decreasing hours of sunlight, tea seems just the remedy. Here are four of the best places to buy good quality tea and enjoy your afternoon cuppa.

Perch’s is probably the best known tea shop in Denmark and for good reason. The tea shop still occupies the same rooms as it did when it opened 175 years ago, offering a wide range of teas and not least great service and know-how. They also offer a classic afternoon tea that includes cucumber sandwiches and scones. Reservation is often necessary. Their English breakfast tea costs 99 kroner for 30 tea bags.

Østerlandsk Thehus now offers more than 150 different kinds of tea and a wide range of tea pots and mugs as well. Their English breakfast tea is 45 kroner for 100g.
