Name of the Next Song
Renowned Stockholm dance group Andersson Dance grace the stage of Dansehallerne for the first time in the highly acclaimed Name of the Next Song. In this work, four dancers explore our relationship with progressing natural time versus the fast pace of the technological lives we lead today. Acclaimed Swedish experimental composer and musician BJ Nilsen is inspired by art from the Baroque period. Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet has called it “a concentrated, existential meditation on life, transience and rebirth”.

Living Room
The oldest, most binding relationship has to be the one between a man and his shadow, and Living Room is a performance that questions the very hierarchy of such a bond. It depicts a world that is in motion – represented in the literal motion of the stage, the scenery and the dancers. The choreography is contorting, the setting is isolatingly apocalyptic and the questions posed are deeply human. Control against subordination, puppeteer against puppet – these innate foils are exposed in what Politiken describes as “an emotional knockout of rare magic”.

Circus of Life
A sensual comedy inspired by the Fall of Man, Circus of Life is one of Danish choreographer Pernille Garde’s most expressive works. In this play, she reflects on the seven deadly sins. Set in a circus ring, it follows a circus troupe performing short – and often gruesome yet hilarious – vignettes about the dark side of life and our fallibilities as human beings. It looks at humanity’s raised awareness in sexuality, vulnerability and a knowledge – or naivety – of good and evil. You will leave the theater asking yourself questions about your own relationship with sin.
