Michael Laudrup has been sacked as manager of English Premier League club Swansea City.
Laudrup last season guided the Welsh team to their first ever major trophy, but paid the price for recent poor league form that had seen the Swans avoid defeat in just two of their last eight games.
Laudrup, who had a year and a half left on his contract, in December guided Swansea to the last 32 of the Europa League, and in January knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup.
But it was not enough for the Swansea board who at a meeting today concluded that the Dane was not the man to take the club forward.
