Dane stabbed in the Philippines

July killing just now coming to light

A 65-year-old Dane has been killed in the Philippines. 

The man, described as a Danish artist, was stabbed by his ex-lover, according to local media.

The death, which happened on July 17, was confirmed by the Foreign Ministry to Ekstra Bladet.  

The body has now been flown to Denmark, where forensic scientists will make final examinations. 

Loved the Philippines
The victim reportedly loved the Philippines and made regular visits to the country several times over the last nine years. 

He was educated at Frederiksberg Technical School and has a master's in communications from the University of Roskilde.

The victim spent much of his time giving to the poor of the Philippines. Following Typhoon Yolanda, he painted four paintings and sold them at auctions in Scandinavia. He donated the money to the victims of the typhoon.
