Rush hour chaos as fire breaks out near Central Station in Copenhagen

Incident expected to heavily disrupt public transport in the capital

A fire has broken out in a tunnel near Central Station in Copenhagen, disrupting public transport across the capital region.

There are no reports as yet regarding how serious the blaze might be, but an eye-witness saw at least one fire engine attending to the fire on the stretch of track between Central Station and Vesterport Station.

Services were temporarily suspended between Central Station and Nørreport Station, but have now resumed. However, they are irregular.
