The torrential downpour that caused massive floods in Copenhagen over the weekend is still hampering traffic in parts of the capital this morning.
The motorway between Hans Knudsens Plads square and the Tuborgvej exit on the Helsingør motorway is still closed in both directions, according to Kenneth Krohn Oldgreen, a spokesperson for the road authorities, Vejdirektoratets Trafikinformationscenter.
“They’ve removed all the water, but there is still lots of clearing up to do before the road is safe to drive on,” Oldgreen told Ekstra Bladet tabloid.
”It’s a really good idea to leave early this morning and to use alternative roads to work. Check the traffic situation before leaving.”

Trains back on track
There are also problems in the city centre as two key roads, Gothersgade and Nørrevoldgade, remain closed.
Fortunately, the S-trains are running back to normal, although the road situation means that many of the trains will be packed with commuters avoiding driving.
