Sales of multi-ride tickets extended … again

Familiar klippekort getting one last hurrah

A delay in updating the electronic travel card Rejsekort, which is due to completely replace the familiar colourful klippekort, has extended the life of the cardboard multi-ride ticket until February of next year.

The Rejsekort was due for an upgrade this summer, but that has now been moved until sometime later in the autumn.

Putting the customers first
The Traffic Ministry and Greater Copenhagen regional transport authority Movia, railway operator DSB and Metro operator Metroselskabet – three of the firms behind the troubled Rejsekort – did not want customers to suffer the phasing out of a system while its replacement was not yet up to speed.

“The most important thing is that customers experience an easy transition,” DSB spokesperson Christian Linnelyst told TV2 News. “It is not that important that it will take a little longer to phase out the klippekort.”

Until the end of June 2015
Those purchasing a klippekort before 9 February will be able to use it until 30 June 2015.

Sales of the klippekort were originally slated to stop at the end of June 2013, but fears that the Rejsekort remained riddled with problems caused those involved to also postpone the switchover at that time.
