Victim was imprisoned and raped for six weeks

A 33-year-old Copenhagen man will now stand trial for crimes including aggravated assault, detention and rape committed against members of his own family in an Amager flat at the beginning of this year.

The man is accused of holding his wife hostage and raping her multiple times each day from 9 January until 19 February.

The woman was also threatened, slapped, punched, threatened with a knife and beaten with a belt, according to the charges.

Child abuse
The man is also accused of violence against his children.

He allegedly beat his nine-year-old daughter with a ladle and beat her about the face and body with his fists. His eight-year-old son was subjected to the same violence and also was burned on his arms with hot tea.
