The confirmation that Jesper Christensen will return as Mr White in the upcoming James Bond film, 'Spectre', means that four of the last six films in the franchise will have had Danes in prominent villain roles.
It will be the third time Christensen has portrayed the antihero in the franchise, having appeared in 'Casino Royale' (alongside compatriot Mads Mikkelsen) and 'Quantum of Solace'. Ulrich Thomsen ('Festen') played a baddie in 'The World is not Enough'.
Details of the new film were released yesterday by director Sam Mendes from the set at Pinewood studios in Buckinghamshire, west of London. British actor Daniel Craig will again play the lead role of 007.
Talented team
“I’m very much looking forward to working with Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig,” Christensen told Euroman.dk.
“It’s a truly exciting script and a very talented team. So it will be fun.”
Christensen will not be the lead villain, however. While the Bond girls have been confirmed as Léa Seydoux and Monica Bellucci, the details regarding Bond's nemesis remain tightly guarded – just like the face of Blofeld in the first four films of the series back in the 1960s.
Media are busy speculating that the villain will be Blofeld, and that it will go to double Oscar winner Christoph Waltz ('Inglourious Basterds', 'Django Unchained'), who was yesterday confirmed among the cast.
The film's worldwide premiere will take place on 6 November 2015.
