Best of performance in January: Like it says – Go!

Plenty of performances to keep you busy in the new year

Dans2Go is an affordable introduction to ballet that focuses on the music and musicality behind ballet performances.

To introduce different kinds and styles of ballet, both Cacti and Etudes are being performed.

Ekman’s Cacti is, explains its creator, a “gleeful parody” of the success of ballet that has always left audiences laughing. It involves 16 dancers, four musicians and several cacti.

Etudes by Harald Lander, in contrast, celebrates the traditional way of learning ballet.

Through its choice of pieces, Dans2Go meta-theatrically examines what it is to understand and ‘do’ ballet.
