48-year-old woman pays ultimate price for ignoring barrier

A train accident in the southeastern Jutland town of Gråsten cost a 48-year-old local woman her life yesterday afternoon.

Police said the woman went through the level crossing while the siren was sounding and the barrier was down and was struck by a train.

Witnesses report that the barriers and signals were functioning as they should.

The woman’s family have been notified, and emergency personnel have contacted passengers on the train in case any of them are suffering from shock.
