New turf coming to Parken

FC Copenhagen will have new grass by the end of the month

FC Copenhagen will soon have the pleasure of new turf at its home stadium Parken. The club has announced that the pitch will be replaced before the first spring game of the season on Sunday February 22 against FC Vestsjælland.

The operation will take place over the course of just a few days. “On Monday the turf will be peeled away, after which we’ll take delivery of grass from England,” the club explained.

“The new grass will be laid on Tuesday and the pitch will be made ready on Wednesday, with just light care needed before the opening game.”

The chief executive of FC Copenhagen, Anders Hørsholt, indicated last year that the pitch was due for a renewal owing to its bad condition in the first half of the season.
