Jørgensen spoils Danish party

Joachim Fischer and Christinna Pedersen have confirmed they are one of the world's best mixed doubles partnerships in badminton.

The Danish duo today safely negotiated their way through the quarter-finals at Yonex Sunrise India Open in New Delhi.

Top seeded in the tournament, Fisher and Pedersen defeated Japanese duo Kenichi Hayakawa and Misaki Matsutomo 21-10, 21-18.

Similarly, Carsten Mogensen and Mathias Boe won as expected against Wang Yilv and Zhang Wen from China in two sets, 21-19, 21-14.  

India's Prannoy Kumar, however, upset the Danish party by seeing off the country's top ranked singles player, the world number two Jan Ø Jørgensen.
