Police hunting moped mugger

Attack in Valby this morning

At 10 o’clock this morning, a 33-year-old woman was mugged in Valby, a city district of Copenhagen. Cycling along Trekronergade just outside the HQ of pharmaceutical company Lundbeck, minding her own business, she was knocked to the ground by a moped rider.

The assailant then stole her bag containing her money, mobile and keys. The victim, a Thai national married to a Dane, was hurt and expressed surprise that these kind of attacks could happen in Denmark.

Following the attack, the attacker fled the scene via Gerdasgade.

Witnesses describe the mugger as a dark-skinned man in his late teens, riding a moped with orange sides that is black from behind. He was wearing a black helmet.

The police are taking the assault very seriously.
