Travel delays on Funen

Collapsing central reservation the cause

Eastbound travellers on Funen will have to be patient on the main road between Middelfart and Nørre Aaby today.

Emergency roadwork is taking place to fix parts of the central reservation (aka median strip), which are in a state of collapse. Drivers can expect delays throughout the day and multiple lane closures. The worst queues will occur during rush hour.

“The central reservation is sinking due to some kind of erosion,” explained Anders Bach Sørensen from Vejdirektoratets, the highway administration.
