Early-May music: One Direction’s favourite rockers

5 Seconds of Summer
Tue May 12, 20:00; Forum; 390kr

5 Seconds a Summer are a young pop-rock band from Sydney, founded in 2011 by a group of school friends.

They built their fan base through videos on YouTube while juggling band practices at their parents’ homes.

Inspired by the likes of Blink-182, Green Day and Nickelback, their big breakthrough came when they supported One Direction on tour, not least because the boy band helped them gain popularity by tweeting links to their songs.

Maybe this is why their concert has sold out. Check internet forums for tickets.
