Keep calm and drink up was the spirit of this year’s highlight on Denmark’s brewery scene. More than 6,000 beer fanatics found their way to the three-day Copenhagen Beer Festival, hosted by the Dansk Ølentusiaster. Offering more than 800 different beers from local and international breweries, everyone soon found their own new favourite. While drinking themselves through pilsners, lagers and pale ales, the visitors enjoyed the program filled with shows, special beer tastings and music. Another highlight was the Danish beer championship on Sunday afternoon, awarding the best Danish beer. Almost as interesting as the beer were the costume choices. Ranging from traditional Bavarian ‘Dirndl’ (second right) to individual interpretations (centre right), they succeeded in livening up the beer festival for everyone.
