Ole Adolf Donner wasn’t afraid to criticise his fellow party members

The former MP and co-founder of Dansk Folkeparti (DF), Ole Adolf Donner, passed away yesterday aged 75.

Donner was a member of the city council in Frederiksværk from 1974-1985 and again from 1989-2005 as a member of the former Fremskridtspartiet and later DF, which he co-founded with current party head Kristian Thulesen Dahl, Pia Kjærsgaard and Poul Nødgaard.

During his first DF years he was the party secretary and was known for cracking jokes and not being afraid to openly criticise the party leadership.

Critical of Pia
He left the party leadership in 1998 after not being able to gain insight into how and what the party was spending its funds on. He also openly criticised Pia Kjærsgaard’s desire to expel several generations of immigrants from Denmark if just one member of their families committed a crime.

Donner’s criticism of DF eventually led to him leaving the party in July 2000 along with two other colleagues.

He then continued on as an independent member of parliament until the following election in 2001.
