Live snake found in Copenhagen supermarket toilet

Unexpected shopper turns up in loo

The Føtex in Vesterbro in Copenhagen had an unexpected guest on  Tuesday morning.

A 40 centimetre long snake was found in the customer toilet. Police believe that a customer left the snake behind on purpose.

No place for snakes
“It is orange, yellow and whitish,” said Copenhagen police spokesperson Henrik Brix. “We are looking for a snake expert and taking it to a shelter for safe-keeping. A toilet is not a safe place for a snake.”

Police have tentatively identified the snake as either a corn or rat snake.
