Record traffic on Øresund Bridge

With 30,955 cars, a one-day record was set on July 18

A total of 803,896 vehicles crossed the Øresund Bridge between Copenhagen and Malmö in July – the highest number in the bridge’s 15-year history, News Øresund reports.

July sets new records
On average, 25,932 vehicles drove over the bridge per day, an increase of 6.4 percent compared to July 2014.

In addition to the monthly record, a one-day record was set on Saturday July 18 with 30,955 cars.

375 kroner one way
News Øresund concludes the sluggish weather this summer possibly explains the record numbers as people prefer to go on short day-trips or cross-border shopping.

The 7.8 kilometre-long Øresund Bridge was inaugurated on 1 July 2000 and is open daily round the clock.

A single car ticket costs 375 kroner during the summer season and 345 kroner the rest of the year.
