Vestas inks big US order

Company nets 200 MW order from Xcel Energy in North Dakota

The Danish wind turbine producer Vestas has landed a 200 MW order from Xcel Energy in North Dakota in the US.

The project, named Courtenay, involves Vestas supplying Xcel Energy with 100 V100-2.0 MW wind turbines and includes a three-year service agreement.

The wind turbines are expected to be delivered in the third quarter of 2016 and will be ready to turn in the following quarter.

“Xcel is a national leader in wind power,” Vestas wrote.

“We welcome them as a new Vestas customer and are confident our highly proven V100-2.0 MW turbine will ensure Xcel delivers clean, reliable power to their customers at a competitive cost.”
