Storming of Friedrichstadt

Today is an official military flag day commemorating the Storming of Friedrichstadt in 1850 during the First Schleswig War.

After enduring five days of bombardment the heavily-outnumbered Danish army, consisting of 1,600 men and led by Hans Helgesen, thwarted an attack by 5,000 men from the Schleswig-Holstein army.
