Terror suspect arrested in Sweden

The terrorist suspect who was being hunted in Sweden and Denmark yesterday has been arrested in northern Sweden by the Swedish intelligence agency Säpo.

Iraqi national Mutar Muthanna Majid, 25, was arrested in the northeastern town of Boliden yesterday evening at around 18:20.

IS connection
Säpo believes that Majid is a member of the terror organisation Islamic State and that he arrived in Sweden with the purpose of committing acts of terror in Europe or against Swedish interests locally or abroad.

According to the Swedish newspaper Expressen, Majid entered Sweden via Germany after travelling from Iraq and Syria.
