December Performance: The passion of Puccini

Il trittico
starts Dec 3, ends Jan 30; Opera House, Ekvipagemestervej 10, Cph K; 195-795kr; kglteater.dk

Experience one of Puccini’s greatest opera masterpieces performed at the Opera House and directed by Italy’s Damiano Michieletto.

Doing justice to Puccini’s emotional touch, the opera consists of three acts: ‘Il tabarro’ in which a couple lead an unhappy life after the loss of their son; ‘Suor Angelica’, which deals with a religious redemption after women breach society’s laws, and finally ‘Gianni Schicchi’ in which greedy heirs cheat their way to inherit a fortune.

The cast includes British star Elizabeth Llewellyn (Porgy and Bess), Johan Reuter and Marco di Felice.
