On this day in 1570, Denmark and Sweden officially ended the Northern Seven Years’ War by signing the Treaty of Stettin.

The treaty proved unfavourable for Sweden and guaranteed Danish hegemony in northern Europe for a short period of time.

However, being inconclusive, it unfortunately didn’t prevent further animosity between the two countries.
