Three hundred break-ins reported on Christmas Day in Denmark

Burglars focused mostly on villas in Zealand

Some 300 families reported a break-in on the first day of Christmas, reports DR.

The figure corresponds to the last year’s level, when some 294 Christmas burglaries were registered.

However, the police expects the number will increase as people slowly return home from Christmas vacation.

Most of the break-ins – 75 percent – took place in residence houses, and the most affected regions were north Zealand (29 burglaries), Funen (22 burglaries), and central and west Zealand (21 burglaries).

On December 25, the Copenhagen police arrested three men who attempted to break into a villa on Kaktusvej in Amager.
