By good fortune, in January you and your kids are saved of dying of boredom in the dark winter by the Copenhagen Theatre Circle who are staging their fifth British pantomime in five years: Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood.
Directed by Irishman Patrick Stack, a long-time member of the CTC who started as an actor back in 1970, expect a fun comedy musical that will make you laugh and cry in equal measures.
The plot is a familar one by Sherwood standards. There is a wicked sheriff in Nottingham and he is growing increasingly richer by forcing the poor to pay taxes.
His master plan includes stealing the fortunes of the innocent Pip and Penny, who have recently become orphans, and tricking Maid Marion into marrying him.
But don’t worry, because Robin Hood and his merry men will come to the rescue!
Expect absurdity, jokes, songs, dancing and all the magic of a good traditional pantomime.
So, grab your kids and a group of friends because this performance is one for the whole family that you can’t pass on, babe!
Check the CTC website for information on discount prices.
