Light rail initiatives being discussed in southern Sweden

Malmö, Lund and Helsingborg expected to benefit

As negotiations continue in Sweden about the possibility of high-speed rail and other infrastructure projects, there have been loud calls for light rail investment in Scania’s three largest cities: Malmö, Lund and Helsingborg.

A light rail connection between Lund Central Station and the research facility ESS, another between Helsingborg Central Station and Väla, and a connection between the port at Malmö and Lindängen are some of the regional infrastructure projects on the table.
