Long queues formed at the German-Danish border on Saturday as Danes were returning home from winter holidays, reports DR.
According to the broadcaster, the queues were five to eight km long on the German side of the border and commuters had to wait up to an hour to go through the Danish border checks.
Anders Hansen, a police inspector from the South Jutland Police said, the police decided to open an extra lane to speed up the traffic.
He told DR, the border controls were not particularly strict but extraordinary many people were returning to Denmark from vacation.
