Trine Dyrholm wins Denmark’s first ever best actress award in Berlin

A great day for a great Dane

Trine Dyrholm, for so long Denmark’s turn-to actress, is being tipped to move stateside following her triumph at the Berlin Film Festival last weekend, where she scooped the Silver Bear for Best Actress for the Danish film ‘Kollektivet’.

In doing so, Dyrholm becomes the first Danish woman to pick up one of the awards.

No stranger to winning gongs, she already has six Roberts and six Bodil awards on her mantelpiece, which has been piling up since she made her debut in the 1990 film ‘Springflod’.

And now Dyrholm has said she is prepared to head to Hollywood should an offer arise.

‘Kollektivet’ was nominated for the Golden Bear for Best Film, but lost out to ‘Fire at Sea’, an Italian documentary about the refugee crisis.
