Disaster struck when man was carried off by rip current

A 56-year-old man from Denmark has drowned while on holiday in Puerto Rico.

The Foreign Ministry has confirmed the unfortunate event, which took place on Tuesday in the Caribbean island.

According to local news outlets, the man drowned after he was carried out to sea by a rip current and was unable to return to shore.

An emergency crew was called, but it took them two hours to find the man’s body.
